SummaryI’m Josh, and three years ago I was ready to end my lifeβ€”I’d built an exciting music and media career, but inside I was empty and drowning in loneliness and substance misuse. On June 2, 2018, I heard three wordsβ€”β€œDestroy false prophets”—from my dad’s softly playing audio Bible, and my mind was flooded with conviction. I took a week off, waking at 5 AM with my Bible, toast, and coffee, and read until dinner; God’s Word felt like a mirror revealing my sin and pointing me to repentance. One morning, hiding in the bathroom reading Luke 15, I saw myself as the prodigal sonβ€”lost, then welcomed home with open armsβ€”and I broke down in tears, overwhelmed by God’s unconditional love. The next Sunday I nervously stepped back into church, and during worship I sensed God saying, β€œWhy not sing for Me?” I surrendered everything, accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and began a new journey of true freedom and purpose.

Today I turn 31 years old and I’m feeling contented. I have a beautiful fiancΓ© who loves me, a family who is strong together, and a God who knows me better than I know myself. What more can I ask for?

However, 3 years ago I would have never imagined I would be here. I would have ended it all if I could.

And for the friends and family who know me, I’ve never been one to acknowledge that God exists. I had my doubts and I conjured up my own idea of β€œChristianity” just to fit the narrative I wanted as a means to justify all my actions.

However, when you are at the moment where you are facing death in the face and you are hoping for a lifeline just to hold on to. That was where I met Him. The One who feels the pain you are going through and will show you true freedom and true love! His name is Jesus Christ and this is my testimony of how He brought me back to life!
