Summary
SummaryIβm Blake Sweeney from Petersburg, Virginia. Until age 12 I lived in a home marked by addiction and violence, and by my teens I was hooked on marijuana, alcohol, cocaine, heroinβand even pornography π. At 18 I hit rock bottom: homeless, jobless, embroiled in a drug den. My mom and stepdad rescued me and brought me to Teen Challenge of Fredericksburg, where Mike and Cindy Zell showed me love and care β€οΈ. One night I prayed, asking God to reveal Himself. After reading Ephesians 4 about the church as a living body, I realized that the real healing came through believers walking beside me. I surrendered my life to Christ, left Teen Challenge, and though I stumbled with alcohol and pornography, I kept returning to that body of believers for accountability and prayer. I joined the army in 2015 and later sought counseling with my wife as my marriage suffered under old habits. Through small groups, church fellowship, and scripture, God lifted a weight off my shoulders. Today Iβm free from addictions, restored in my marriage, rejoicing in simple moments with my children π. My hope is that anyone strugglingβbe it addiction, marital issues, or doubtβfinds someone in the church to walk with them, and experiences the healing power of Christ.
