Summary
SummaryI’m Simone Halpin, and in 2012 God stirred my heart in Chicago to confront the horror of commercial sexual exploitation. I gathered women to pray, worship, and then drive through the city sharing Jesus’ love with those enslaved. Inspired by Nehemiah’s example, we fasted and prayed, then boldly asked our church elders to support a residential home. Four years later, in 2016, Naomi’s House opened its doors, offering a year-and-a-half residential program, a day program, and drop-in centers for women stuck in exploitation. Over time I saw how childhood abuse, disrupted education, substance introduction, and broken families create vulnerabilities. In community—rooted in Christ—we provide individualized care so each woman can experience healing, purpose, and hope. 🙏🏽🏠💖
Simone Halpin reached for the sex worker and earnestly pleaded, “You don’t have to do this!”. The woman’s eyes said everything: “Yes I do. You have no idea what my life is like.”
At that moment, the questions flooded into Simone’s mind, but one thing she knew to her core – THIS is not right.
Warning: This episode deals with themes of sexual abuse and trauma. Listener discretion is advised.
