I am Tia Payne, and I survived a lifetime of abuse—from my early years in Akan, Ohio, where the absence of a loving father left me praying for his return, to the brutal reality of domestic violence inflicted by my pastor father and later my husband. I endured severe physical and emotional trauma, battled addictions to alcohol and pornography, and even attempted suicide in my darkest moments. Through relentless prayer and the faithful intervention of Jesus, I found a lifeline that delivered me from bondage. Today, I celebrate the freedom and healing I received, and I use my painful past to empower others as a domestic violence advocate and through my nonprofit, Legacy 31. My testimony is a reminder that no matter how deep the hurt, God’s love and deliverance are real.
