SummaryI grew up as a mixed-race boy in East Saint Louis, facing cruelty at school and violence at home. My fatherβs abuse left me numb and craving acceptance, driving me into crime and addiction. By sixteen, I was selling drugs; by nineteen, a double life sentence plus 100 years landed me in prison. At rock bottomβafter hearing my verdict and planning to end my lifeβI cried out, βGod, if Youβre real, Iβll serve You.β That night, He met me with peace Iβd never known. I surrendered to Jesus, found forgiveness for my fatherβs brokenness, and discovered new purpose behind bars. Today, Iβm free in Christ, restored, and living with hope and joy.
Louis Dooley was a young man in St. Louis who found himself imprisoned with a double life sentence plus 100 years for first-degree armed robbery and attempted murder. Through a miraculous turn of events, Louis received Jesus Christ in prison and recognized he could have new life in Christ. This is his story.
