Summary
SummaryMy name is Ji Ho, and I live in North Koreaβa place where following Jesus could cost you everything. When the Secret Service raided our home, they were looking for a radio and a mysterious book. My father was taken, and I was left to wonder what kind of book could be so dangerous. Over time, my hunger became worse than my sadness, and I remembered the old radio my father once used. I risked everything to listen to itβ¦ and thatβs when I heard about Jesus. π»β¨
The words from the radioβ*You are the salt of the earthβ¦*βsparked something deep inside me. I began to believe. Despite the danger, the lack of food, and the loneliness, hope came alive in me. I donβt know where these broadcasts come from, but they changed my life. π
Even if I starve or get caught, I now know Jesus. And I will remain βsaltyβ till the end, shining my little light in this dark place. Thank you to those who send these messagesβ¦ you gave me life. ποΈπ‘

Ji Hoβs story is based on several true accounts of life in North Korea. While details have been created or combined to protect any specific person or place from identification, this story is a look at what life is actually like for North Korean Christians and how Open Doors’ radio ministry reaches into the country that’s most closed to the gospel.
