Summary
SummaryI fled Pakistan with my family because we were persecuted for loving Christ. In Malaysia, though free from torture, we face new trials: no right to work, no income, no food, no education for our children, and no medical aid. I worry constantlyβif something happens to me, who will care for my kids? We are ignored by UNHCR and the international community, left in statelessness. Yet, I hold onto faith π, praying that God will open doors, relieve our suffering, and restore our dignity. I believe that one day we will walk in freedom again π.
10,000 Christian lives are at risk in Malaysia. They fled from Pakistan because they were persecuted for loving Christ. They came to Malaysia with the hope of being protected and heard. Instead they are constantly threatened with indefinite detention and deportation back to Pakistan, where they would be tortured and persecuted by the state.
In Malaysia, they are not permitted to work, have no income, no food, no education and no medical aid.
Meanwhile they are ignored by the international institutions such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the international community, abandoning these genuine refugees to endless statelessness.
These 10,000 people are part of the Body of Christ. The Word of God teaches us to love in action and truth rather than word or speech. Although the UNHCR campaigns against statelessness, in practice in Malaysia it does very little to help. All these Christian refugees seek is human dignity and the right to live and worship in freedom.
Having heard of their plight, we decided to raise their voice and provide them financial support as well in order to make them survive in a country where they do not have legal status and cannot work legally to feed their children. Please join hands with us and let us help them together.
