Summary

Summary“Hi, I’m Emily Wierenga, and I want to tell you how God turned my darkness into light. 🌟 For years, I battled anorexia nervosa, feeling trapped by a distorted image of myself and the fear that I might never recover. When doctors finally told me I would likely never have children because of the damage I’d done, I felt a mix of acceptance and sorrow—my heart was numb, but my faith still lived as a tiny mustard seed. 🙏 Two months after sharing my infertility on TV, Pastor Hy and his wife approached us and prayed for a miracle. Although we conceived soon after, our joy was cut short by miscarriage, and I wondered if God had heard that prayer at all. Yet in my darkest moment, He revealed His plan: precancerous cells on my cervix were removed—my life was spared, and my hope was renewed. ❤ We even explored foster care, ready to become parents any way God led us. Then, on a trip to New York City, we discovered we were pregnant again—within a year as promised! Along the way, God gave me a vivid dream of two children, reminding me that every life matters. And five weeks after Aiden was born, we returned to that same TV set to celebrate God’s faithfulness together. Today, as a Canadian author and faith leader, I stand in awe of His grace—proof that with Him, nothing is impossible. 🙌✨”

God still does miracles—and this story proves it. Over 14 years ago, Emily Wierenga sat down on the set of 100 Huntley Street to share her journey of healing from an eating disorder. She also shared something heartbreaking: doctors had told her she’d likely never have children. But what happened next could only be described as divine. Unbeknownst to Emily, a pastor watching backstage—himself the miracle child of a once-infertile mother—felt compelled to pray. That moment sparked a journey through loss, faith, and finally, the miraculous birth of Aiden, conceived within a year of that prayer. Now a thriving 15-year-old, Aiden joins his mom on set to testify to the God who still moves mountains.
