Summary
SummaryIβm Andrew, and for years alcohol felt like a heavier gravity pulling me down. Even though Iβd checked all the βright boxesβ growing up, once I tried my first drink at 21, I realized it gripped me differently. I began hiding my problem, drinking more and more until everything fell apart. In the summer of 2016, I finally confessed to my parents that I was an alcoholic. My mom prayed and prophesied over me, saying God would use my story for generational restoration. At first, I couldnβt believe it. Then my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Instead of being there for her, I drank away my guilt and shame. Yet my mom never waveredβshe faithfully prayed over me, and I watched God begin to break chains I thought were unbreakable. On August 1, 2019, I hit rock bottom emotionally and spiritually, and I cried out to my dad to take me back to rehab. That actβletting go of my false controlβopened the door for God to rescue me. Now I walk in freedom, with a connection to God I never knew possible. His grace took me from a desolate pit and gave me a new song of praise. πβ¨
In this powerful and deeply personal story, Andrew shares his journey of redemption from the grips of alcoholism to a life filled with hope and purpose. Five years ago, he was lost in a seemingly hopeless cycle of addiction, but through the miraculous grace of God and the faithful support of loved ones, he found the strength to seek help. Through it all, he learned that no matter how far we fall, God is always there to lift us up, to set our feet on solid ground, and to fill our hearts with a new song of praise.
