I’m William. Growing up in a loving Catholic family in Houston, by my teens I spiraled into severe anxiety, depression, and addictionβ€”drinking, smoking, even a suicide attempt in college. I felt utterly alone until AprilΒ 6,Β 2016, when a friend dragged me to Hope City Church. During the altar call, a powerful wave of Jesus’ love hit me. Instantly, my shame and despair gave way to joy, and my heart changed. I repented, turned from toxic relationships, and was re‑baptized. Though life became harderβ€”losing friends and enduring ridiculeβ€”the depression and anxiety lifted, and I found new purpose: sharing the gospel and serving in law‑enforcement ministry. Jesus didn’t just save me from my sins; He gave me a sound mind and a reason to live.
