Summary
SummaryI’m Ayuba from Nigeria. In April 2020, Boko Haram came to our town and killed my father while he stood to protect my grandmother 😢. My siblings and I fled across a river in fear for our lives. The next morning, I found his body—and I wept, praying, ‘God, you give and you take away; may Dad rest with you.’ Anger boiled in me, and I carried a knife, longing for revenge. Yet God brought me to an Open Doors trauma centre, where on the third day I heard how a grieving man’s heart was healed. I looked at my pain and chose to let go of anger, embracing God’s peace instead ✨. Today, I stand in inner peace, praying my life will glorify Christ and that persecuted youth in sub-Saharan Africa will be strengthened in faith 🙏.
Ayuba’s* father was killed by Boko Haram militants in 2020. Ayuba swore to take revenge on the man who had betrayed his father to the militants – but has found healing through a trauma centre, supported by Open Doors.
