Summary
SummaryIβm Maddy, and for years I drifted away from God, chasing the thrills of high school and college without real purpose π. In March 2019, losing what I thought was my dream job left me broken and hopeless. It was my family, friends, and coworkers praying me through that dark season who led me back to CedarCreek Church. The moment I walked in, I felt at homeβand I cried tears of relief in my car afterward π. Over the next months, God opened doors: a new teaching position, my first home, and my sweet fur baby Maisie πΆ. Today, I serve weekly in Kids Ministry, lead a Young Adult Life Group, and am part of a Womenβs Life Group. Surrounded by encouraging brothers and sisters, my faith is stronger than ever, and Iβm confident that no matter what comes, God is in control π.
“Throughout high school and college, I continued to distance myself from God, diving into the typical high school and college experience. I knew about God’s love, but didn’t pursue a personal relationship with him. It wasn’t until March 2019 when I was displaced from my “dream job” that I started to re-evaluate my faithfulness. I felt discouraged, broken, hopeless. It was the people around me: my family, coworkers, friends that supported me during this emotional and strenuous process of searching for a new “dream job”.
It was through their encouragement and prayer that I decided to attend CedarCreek once again, as now an adult. Walking through the doors felt like coming home. I felt at peace. After service in the parking lot, I remember starting to cry, because I knew this was the comfort I was searching for. From there everything started to fall into place: I got a new job teaching in a great school district, I bought my first home, I got my fur baby Maisie.
Fast forward two years and I have never felt more confidence in my faith. I have found purpose in serving in Kid’s ministry, I lead a Young Adult Life Group, I attend a Women’s Life Group, but most importantly I am surrounded by people who inspire and encourage me daily in my faith and to pursue my relationship with God.
Throughout my adventure at CedarCreek I have found friendship, community, belonging, and peace. I have a sense of comfort knowing that no matter what the world throws my way God is always in control.”
