I began life hungry for approvalβ€”pretending to be sick at eight just to taste β€œTheraflu,” only to suffer a terrible burn that left me terrified I’d die. In that moment, I cried out, β€œJesus, please don’t let me die,” and heard His still, small voice promise to never forsake me. Though I grew up in church, stereotyped walls and family hurts left me confused about what it truly meant to follow Christ. In January of this year, God stirred my heart: I no longer wanted a life built on the world’s identity. Through prayer and fasting, He gave me three wordsβ€”deliverance, reconciliation, restorationβ€”and began purging me of profanity, unhealthy desires, and even orphan spirit wounds. Within thirty days, at a conference I nearly skipped, I experienced breakthrough: I was delivered. From that day forward, my identity has been anchored in Christ alone. Now, I live for Him, reconciled to Father, healed in heart, and restored in purposeβ€”and I pray my journey gives you hope to seek your true identity in Him.

This is a testimony of how I first encountered Christ at a young age and from that encounter how that relationship has mold me to become the woman I was created to be. I have had a lot of struggles trying to walk as a Christian in the Faith, struggling to surrender and submit my will completely over to now walking in God’s will for every area of my life. It wasn’t easy leaving the things of this world behind and living the way God has instructed us to live for him. In order for there to be a deliverance from the old life to becoming a new creature in Christ, it can only be obtained through reading God’s word, forming a relationship with God by spending time with him, and of course accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our life is truly not our own and as the holy spirit prompted, I must obey and share my experiences to bring others who are wanting a relationship with Christ and just wanting to know who God is. Once we know who our Heavenly Father is and we accept Christ we now discover our real identity in Christ and not the world’s identity of us.
