Summary

SummaryI’m Sitara, originally from Afghanistan, and I watched in anguish as the Taliban took over in August 2021. Every day I read about bomb blasts near Kabul, and I wonder what’s happening to my family back home. My siblings lost their jobs and safety vanished overnight. I came abroad to study with dreams of empowering Afghan women through education and small businessesβ€”but now that seems impossible under Taliban rule. Despite the danger of being discovered, I found Jesus and decided to follow Him. Yet, lacking any Afghan embassy here, I live in constant fear of deportation. Please join me in prayer for my security, for my family’s peace in Afghanistan, and for the hearts of those in power to open.

Sitara* was already studying in a different country when the Taliban forcibly took control of Afghanistan in August 2021. Here she shares what life is like for the women who remain in Afghanistan.
