SummaryI’m Megan, and after my grandma’s sudden cancer diagnosis and passing in July 2017, I was furious with God. In my pain, I dove into the First15 devotion app, trying to make sense of it all. Shortly after a restorative trip to Hawaii, we discovered I was pregnant—joy and sorrow intertwined as we announced it on the very day of my husband’s grandpa’s funeral. Watching my daughter mirror my grandma in red hair and spirit, I realized God was weaving a full circle of grace. From a chance reading of Imagine Heaven out of my grandma’s things to that divine “tug” prompting me to visit her one last time, I’ve seen that whatever is taken, He gives back something greater if we let Him.

“Something was happening, and I was part of it. It just felt like it was meant to happen. Even though I was angry at the beginning that she was taken and taken in the worst possible way, there was a reason for it.

It feels like a full circle — whatever is taken, he will give you something back that’s greater, if you let it.”
