My name is Matthew Rooney. I was born in Dudley, Birmingham, but I grew up in Leicester in a turbulent environment where my father, a self-described gypsy, was a heavy drinker and abusiveβ€”often beating my mum and creating a life of fear and violence. I endured a childhood marked by instability, abuse, and the harsh realities of gang life. Over the years I fell deep into drug addiction, committed crimes, and spent 16 long years in prison. I reached a point where the pain, the drugs, and the violence took over my life. But in the midst of my darkest moments, Jesus appeared to me. I experienced a supernatural revelation that changed everything. In that moment, I realized I could no longer live a life defined by sin and suffering. Through His power, I was saved, healed, and restored. Today, I stand as a living testimony that no matter how far you’ve fallen or how much trauma you’ve endured, the saving grace of Jesus Christ can break every chain and set you free to live a new life.
