I’m Erica Gumieny—entrepreneur, wife and mom—who spent years feeling worthless after a childhood of chaotic pranks, alcoholism and pain. During a theophostic‑prayer session Jesus showed up, swept away the mocking voices and burned every lie about my identity to ashes. For ten long years I stayed stuck trying to write a book about that moment—until a random Rick Rubin reel reminded me to create what I love. That spark birthed Journey from the Ashes, a devotional rewriting lies with God’s truth. Even when 2024 hit hard—losing my sister and facing fresh grief—His fierce love kept me rising. Her unique approach ensures that each presentation not only engages but also provides valuable insights that resonate deeply with her listeners.
In her corporate career, Erica has honed her client-focused expertise and senior leadership skills across diverse industries, including healthcare, higher education, advertising, training and development, and transportation.
Erica is deeply committed to giving back to her community and has served in numerous volunteer roles. She has been on the Board of Trustees for organizations such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Professional Dimensions, The Parenting Network, and the Alverno College Alumnae Association. Additionally, Erica and her family are passionate about volunteering for several nonprofits and serving meals for Community Projects for Seniors.
Erica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with Honors from Alverno College and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University.
She is married to Jay, the owner of Central States Insurance Agency, and together, they have two adult children whom they cherish spending time with, creating memories, and sharing laughter.
