π βI was 18 when drugs cost me my home, careerβand my two eldest daughters. Homeless and deep in addiction, I even lost my third child to a toxic relationship. Facing prison or treatment, I chose a sixβmonth inpatient program. Yet I tried to conquer it alone, only to relapse into alcohol and loneliness in Portland. When an attorney warned Iβd end up dead or incarcerated, I called my parents in Oregon. Moving to Hillsboro was the turning point: steady work, family support, and rediscovered faith. At Westside Community Church I breathed again under their βNo Perfect People Allowedβ banner, and found Celebrate Recovery. As I worked the Twelve Steps, God became my higher power, and Iβve now celebrated nine years sober. My daughtersβonce strangersβare back in my life. Today I share my story so others know that from utter loss, through Jesus, restoration is possible.β
