Summary
SummaryβMy name is Valentina, and I am 15 years old. I was born and raised in the Cauca region of Colombia, where many people practice witchcraft and Christians like me face threats every day. π’ My family worried that I could be kidnapped or forced into guerrilla groups, so my parents sent me to the Open Doors Childrenβs Center for protection and a proper Christian education. π At the Center, I felt Godβs hand guiding me to safetyβI saw it as a direct answer to my prayers, because before arriving, I didnβt know where I could go to be free of danger.
Life in Cauca was hardβmany young people without hope turn to growing coca, but I wanted something different. At the Center, I discovered my passion for drawing. I dream of studying Fine Arts and using my art to tell Godβs story, not just for beauty but to teach and inspire others. π¨β¨
Whenever I felt discouraged, I reminded myself that God has a purpose for me. Even though itβs difficult to encourage others who suffer persecution, I want them to know they are not alone and to hold on to their faith. In the future, I hope my family will come to know Jesus fully and that I can continue my studies, using my art to bring hope to persecuted children around the world. ππβ
15-year-old Valentina lives at the Childrenβs Centre in Colombia because itβs too dangerous to live with her family β she only sees them at Christmas. But your prayers are helping her to stand strong in her faith.
