Summary

Summaryβ€œMy name is Valentina, and I am 15 years old. I was born and raised in the Cauca region of Colombia, where many people practice witchcraft and Christians like me face threats every day. 😒 My family worried that I could be kidnapped or forced into guerrilla groups, so my parents sent me to the Open Doors Children’s Center for protection and a proper Christian education. πŸ™ At the Center, I felt God’s hand guiding me to safetyβ€”I saw it as a direct answer to my prayers, because before arriving, I didn’t know where I could go to be free of danger.

Life in Cauca was hardβ€”many young people without hope turn to growing coca, but I wanted something different. At the Center, I discovered my passion for drawing. I dream of studying Fine Arts and using my art to tell God’s story, not just for beauty but to teach and inspire others. 🎨✨

Whenever I felt discouraged, I reminded myself that God has a purpose for me. Even though it’s difficult to encourage others who suffer persecution, I want them to know they are not alone and to hold on to their faith. In the future, I hope my family will come to know Jesus fully and that I can continue my studies, using my art to bring hope to persecuted children around the world. πŸ’–πŸ†β€

15-year-old Valentina lives at the Children’s Centre in Colombia because it’s too dangerous to live with her family – she only sees them at Christmas. But your prayers are helping her to stand strong in her faith.
