My name is Grant. I was born in Queensland and grew up in country Australia before joining the Royal Australian Navy at 22, where I served for 28 years. During my military career, I was involved in actions in Iraq that burdened my soul – I witnessed the horror of starving children and committed acts that left me feeling utterly unworthy before God. For many years I struggled with deep guilt, heavy drinking, and even a battle with pornography. I remember the day I realized I had no leg to stand on before God; I fell to my knees and begged for forgiveness. That moment of true repentance, after years of inner torment and countless painful memories – including the tragedy of a helicopter crash that took the lives of dear friends – brought a powerful, transformative encounter with Jesus. His love and mercy completely cleansed my heart, restored my spirit, and gave me a new outlook on life. Today I testify that true forgiveness and renewal come only through Jesus Christ, and I encourage everyone to seek His redeeming power.
