Summary
SummaryIβm Joanne, 53, and I grew up in a closed mining town in the Pilbara where my parents separated when I was nine. That trauma set me on a path of anger, domestic violence, and substance addictionβcigarettes, marijuana, and by 18, intravenous amphetamines. I left my husband and three little boys, became homeless, and lost my youngest to foster care. After ten months in government rehab, I reunited with my children, but relapse followed. I cried out to God in desperation on October 24, 2013, and was led to faith over the phone. I entered Teen Challenge and spent 18 months at Shalom House in Perth. Through persistent prayer, Bible reading, and Godβs grace, Iβve been clean and sober for years. Now Iβm in Shalom House again, separated from idols, working hard to restore my family and walk in the peace of Jesus.πβ¨
