Summary

SummaryIโ€™m Joanne, 53, and I grew up in a closed mining town in the Pilbara where my parents separated when I was nine. That trauma set me on a path of anger, domestic violence, and substance addictionโ€”cigarettes, marijuana, and by 18, intravenous amphetamines. I left my husband and three little boys, became homeless, and lost my youngest to foster care. After ten months in government rehab, I reunited with my children, but relapse followed. I cried out to God in desperation on October 24, 2013, and was led to faith over the phone. I entered Teen Challenge and spent 18 months at Shalom House in Perth. Through persistent prayer, Bible reading, and Godโ€™s grace, Iโ€™ve been clean and sober for years. Now Iโ€™m in Shalom House again, separated from idols, working hard to restore my family and walk in the peace of Jesus.๐Ÿ™โœจ
