I sought love and worth through youth group, karate trophies, and even relationships, but nothing filled the hole left by childhood pain and my sister’s illness. After a devastating broken engagement and a knee surgery crisis, I spiraled into partying, drinking, and even supporting a friend’s abortion—all while still attending Mass and teaching catechism in hiding. Everything changed the day I walked into a Life in the Spirit seminar. The Holy Spirit flooded me with light, and I saw all my unconfessed sins laid bare. One honest confession set me free overnight—I went from nightclubs to prayer meetings, from fear to confidence in God’s Word. Soon I felt His call to serve, left college to join youth retreats, and discovered my true vocation in community life. Now, married and devoted to Jesus, I know my faith is my security and strength.

Trisha Quilici appeared to have all the boxes checked when it came to living a devout Catholic life: attending Mass, confession, teaching Catechism, and assisting with the youth group. From the outside, she fits the mold of a model Christian. However, beneath the surface, she grappled with a profound inner struggle, a longing for love and acceptance.
