Summary
SummaryI am Tony Kidd, and alongside my wife Kaye we were jolted awake by our daughterβs urgent warning as a tornado ripped our home from its foundation in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. With hearts pounding, we cried out, βIn the name of Jesus!β π As the wind lifted our entire house, a peace unlike any other settled over us, reminding us that God was our fortress. When daylight broke, our roof was gone, trees dangled into our bedroom, and water gushed like a waterfallβbut by His grace, we were safe! π¨π At dawn, the Kenneth Copeland Ministries Disaster Relief Team arrived, offering kindness and proving that Godβs provision never fails. β€οΈ
Kaye and Tony Kidd from Mount Juliet, Tenn., experienced the beauty of partnership firsthand after a tornado destroyed their home. Kaye and Tonyβs daughter called them in the middle of the night, urgently telling them to get up because a tornado was on its way. Alarmed by the call, they both jumped out of bed, but by the time they reached the foot of the bed the entire house began to vibrate and shake. Tony yelled, βGet on the floor.β As they did, Kaye could feel the house being lifted off its foundation by the wind.
They both began saying, βIn the Name of Jesus; in the Name of Jesus.β When they looked up, the roof and ceiling were gone, there was a tree hanging toward the house, and transformers outside their home were exploding, making it seem as if fireworks were going off. When a disoriented Kaye went to the front door, she could not find the front porch because the storm had moved them 25 to 30 feet off the foundations. Water was gushing out of the plumbing that had been disconnected from the house. Live wires were everywhere. Windows were broken and the hood of Tonyβs dump truck had been ripped off. Just a few minutes had passed, but a mountain of destruction lay in its wake!
The following morning, the Kidds were joined by their daughter and son-in-law. The clean-up process had barely begun when members of the Kenneth Copeland Ministries Disaster Relief Team arrived to offer encouragement in their time of need.
