Summary
SummaryI am Jumagul, and I lived as a secret believer in a country in Central Asia. When my daughters discovered the gospel at university and shared it with me, I felt Godβs words so powerfully that I wept uncontrollably. I could hardly wait to attend my first underground house church meeting at dawn, even though my husband hated it. He scolded me, kicked me so hard I fell meters away, and beat me because of my faith. π’π Yet, I forgave him in the moment and continued to follow Jesus.
When my husband was imprisoned for his cruelty and returned home six years later as an alcoholic, our struggles deepened. He even stabbed me with a butcherβs knife, but I survived only because God protected my heart. I spent 25 days in the hospital, praying earnestly alongside my fellow believers. When my husband was critically ill in the same hospital, the doctors said he had only days to live. My community and I prayed for him without ceasing. By Godβs mercy, he recovered and lived for another six years. πβ€οΈ
Through conversations with a local pastor and the faithful visits of our church family, my husband encountered the living God. He repented, stopped drinking, and began driving me to our secret church meetings. For the last years of his life, we experienced true peace and joy together in Christ.
Our faith has faced relentless persecution from family and neighbors who threatened us to recant Jesus. But I refuse to deny my Lord; He hears me when I pray in a language I understand. I want many people to know that Jesus is Lord and the source of true peace. ππ
Jumagulβs* story is one of amazing redemption: after becoming a Christian, she was beaten and abused by her husband. But God heard Jumagulβs prayers and transformed her husband β and her marriage. After her husbandβs death, Jumagul continues to follow Jesus β despite persecution from her local community.
