Summary
SummaryIn 2015, our peaceful village of Gayaku in Northeast Nigeria was set ablaze by Boko Haram. I watched from the foot of the mountain as flames consumed our homes and church. That night in hiding, I pleaded with God to sustain our faith. Upon returning, we found nearly everything destroyedβonly six homes were spared. Many lost hope, and I feared the church would scatter permanently. But God had other plans.
Even though this wasn't my first experience with such terror, I leaned on my faith and urged the church members to come back. Bit by bit, we gathered burnt materials and rebuilt a humble place of worship. Slowly, families returnedβeven those who had fled to Gombe.
Through Open Doorsβ support, we received food, trauma healing, and leadership training. Today, our church stands stronger, our community larger. God's timing through Open Doors was perfect. What once seemed lost, God restored. Glory be to Jesus! ππ₯βͺπ³π¬
When Pastor Andrewβs community was attacked by Boko Haram, he courageously chose to stay and rebuild his church. Now, there are more Christians in the community than before! Find out how your prayers are making a difference.
