Summary
Iβm Daytona Erkan. At seventeen, in warβtorn Wiesbaden, Germany, I waited eight anxious days for an implantable cardiac defibrillator to manage my prolonged QT heart conditionβonly to endure the entire 2Β½βhour procedure without any anesthesia, restrained by resentful staff. In the agony, I cried out songs of praise, begged God for peace and release, and ultimately surrendered all to Him. The aftermath plunged me into PTSD, depression, and addiction to prescribed antiβanxiety medicines. With my familyβs tough love, counseling, and layers of prayerβespecially the choice to forgive my surgeonβI learned that God wonβt waste our darkest moments. Today Iβve reclaimed my voice, found audacious faith in His faithfulness, and share this testimony to give hope: itβs okay not to be okay, and God is in every detail of our healing journey.

Episode 28: Seeing God in the Details with Daytona Erkan
(11/14 release)
Daytona shares a very personal story about a trauma she endured, and the journey of healing that followed. Her father was stationed in Germany during the war, and she (a young teen) had to undergo surgical placement of an implantable cardiac device for an unstable heart condition. There was hostility among the staff for Americans at that time, and Daytona endured the entire 2 1/2 hour procedure without any anesthetic, while being restrained by staff members.
Daytona shares candidly the highs and lows in her healing journey, and offers hope for others that are struggling with PTSD (Post traumatic Stress Disorder), and forgiveness.
Are you suffering from PTSD? There is hope for your healing!
