Summary
SummaryI grew up in a strict Mennonite home on a Pennsylvania farm, 🌾 where no TV, pants, or jewelry were allowed. At ten, I met Jesus, and at nineteen, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit—speaking in tongues on a movie-theater parking lot! 🎬🔥 God then called me to Bible school on Glory Road, TN, and sent me as a cook and missionary to India, where I met and married Tim via snail mail. Despite discontent washing pots, I learned to serve, laying everything at God’s altar. 🇮🇳🙏 In 2004 we moved to Singapore, and in 2020, when our visas hung by a thread, God reminded me that His timing is perfect—He never wastes a situation but builds on it. Today, I stand firm, trusting that every closed door was preparing me for His plan. 🌍✨
Raised in a conservative Mennonite family, Joanne O’Connell embraced faith early, and experienced the Holy Spirit after high school and attended a Bible school.
Her journey led her to missionary work in India, marriage, and eventually, ministry in Singapore.
Catch her testimony this Sunday and be encouraged by how she has learnt, through challenges, to trust God’s timing and faithfulness.
