Summary
SummaryβI never imagined the joy of holding our newborn Isaac would turn into a season of fear and reliance on Godβs people. When he became feverish at three weeks old, we hurried him to the ER, praying it was nothing serious. But the moment the doctor called back, my heart sankβIsaac had a urinary tract infection resistant to most antibiotics. π’ I felt helpless, trying to care for him and our two-year-old, Henry, all while I was still recovering. The spinal tap, the ultrasound, and multiple pokes for IV lines tested us. Yet, in the midst of our panic, God reminded me of His faithfulness. A few weeks earlier, Brian had preached on Abraham and Isaac, asking, βWhat is it in your life thatβs most difficult to surrender?β That very moment in the ER, I felt God whisper, βIβm still here.β β€οΈ Our church rallied around us like never before. Every night, friends from our life group sat with me at the hospital. Strangers handed us gift cards; families delivered meals for eight weeks straight. I couldnβt carry all my burdensβHe carried them for us. Even when Isaac returned with RSV at Christmas, that same community filled our room with hope. Through the tears and tubes, we experienced Godβs tangible love. Today, I share this to give glory to Jesus, for His people, and for the reminder that when life feels impossible, community and faith can move mountains. πβ
Things looked uncertain when Eric and Megan got a worrying call from the hospital about their baby boy, but in uncertainty, community stepped in.
