I’m Mike McKinsey. During an emergency surgery to remove my appendix, I died on the operating table. What followed was beyond anything I could have imagined—Jesus appeared to me in the surgery room and led me into a place that was pure, beautiful, and unlike anything I had ever seen. I walked on a hill and saw a stunning city below, a peaceful environment unlike anything I’ve experienced on earth. When I came back to life, I realized heaven is a real place. The experience completely changed my life and deepened my faith. I now see every moment as a gift, and I live with a sense of purpose—to spread God’s love. It took 40 years for this prayer to be answered, but I now live with the knowledge that life doesn’t end at death, and I’m no longer afraid of what’s to come.
