Summary

As a β€˜kingdom kid’ at Broward Church, I learned all the right answers but hid my selfish, prideful heart behind a mask 😷. I chased worldly fun, convinced I’d follow God later. In summer 2014, 15 turning 16, a sober look at 2 Timothy 3:1–5 cut me to the core. I wept, saw my need for grace, and on September 6, 2014, I was baptizedβ€”no longer a mask, but truly born again in Christ 🌱.

I grew up in a church community.

So ironically, I learned how to say all of the right answers and wear a mask to cover the ugly I didn’t want others to see.

In my youth, I figured I’d have “fun” first before deciding to follow God. It was my life, so wouldn’t I know what’s best for me?

Despite my numb and selfish heart, God softened my heart and showed me who I really was.
