Summary
I was born again in 2016 with fiery zealβgrasping every rule I could find, from head coverings to diet, and judging others in the name of holiness. Over time I lost the simple gospel, became burdened and joyless, until a prophetic vision and Holy Spiritβled conviction set me free. Now Iβve rediscovered true identity in Christ and freedom to love without legalism. π

I was in legalism for about 2 years after being born again on October 14, 2016. Many fall into this because of zeal and wanting to please God in every way, Ephesians 4:14. when you are new in the faith it is easy to be deceived if you are not warned about this beforehand but God is still faithful to bring us back to the simple truth. The gospel is simple and easy to understand if we keep it that way and not make it harder than it really is. When you are in Legalism your focus changes, you’re more concerned of the outward, then of the heart. I lost my focus on the gospel and started judging others and trying to get them to change from carnal things by showing them in Scripture and so on but the whole time I was doing the job of the Holy Spirit.
