Summary

SummaryMy name is Nala Yasuf, and I’m 22. Growing up in Somalia, I was taught to be a devout Muslim. But when I discovered Somali Christians online, my heart changed. I read the Bible from Genesis and felt peace for the first time. I was secretly baptized and hid my new faith, even as my family suspected something. They locked me up, beat me, and tried to β€˜cure’ me of my belief. After days of pain and prayer, my sister helped me reconnect with Christian friends, who found me a safe place. One night before an arranged marriage, I ran away and, with God’s help, fled the country. Though I struggled with fear and exhaustion, God reminded me He had brought me this far. Now I rest in His love and ask you to pray for my healing and for new Somali believers like me to be rooted in Christ.

Nala* is only 22, and yet she has already faced so much danger for choosing to follow Jesus. Tortured, and threatened with an arranged marriage, she eventually managed to flee the country with the help of Christian friends. Nala is still very much in need of your prayers.

Please note that Nala is being portrayed by an actor.
