Summary
SummaryIβm Kelsey Romek, and I grew up in Granby, Colorado, praying at six but never feeling Godβs loveβjust rules and fear. In college at the University of NebraskaβLincoln, I chased the weekend high of parties, alcohol, and drugs, only to wake up crushed and hungover every Monday. A near-fatal tubing accident left me brokenβfive ribs, a gashed lung, and a compressed spineβbut I kept running from fulfillment. After a devastating breakup 600 miles from home, loneliness overwhelmed me. Thatβs when God used friends like Andy and later my wife Piper to show me grace, forgiveness, and true identity in Christ. Now, as a firefighter, my real ministry is walking alongside others in their darkest storms, pointing them to the same hope I found. πβ€οΈπ₯
Growing up, Kelsey saw God as unloving, and eventually he walked away from Christianity. After living for himself through college, Kelsey faced a series of difficulties and loneliness. Through those experiences, God placed people in Kelseyβs life to help him see who Godβs love, forgiveness, and grace for each of us.
