At that time, I’d always envisioned moving to France, but I didn’t know how it would happen. A friend introduced me to a priest in France looking for volunteers. Though I was terrified and had no money, I sensed God’s clear direction. Within days, I bought my plane ticket and insurance, trusting He would provide.

Before leaving, I realized I needed my Sacrament of Confirmation in order to be a godmother for my friend’s daughter. I asked questions, attended classes, and discovered a new hunger for understanding the Catholic faith. During an Alpha course retreat in Dallas, I saw “Here I Am to Worship” again, and strangers prayed for me—without knowing I was going to France. It was undeniable confirmation that God was calling me.

So I went to France, surrendering my fears. In those months, through saints, through adoration, and through our Blessed Mother, I learned that God didn’t need me to say anything—He just wanted me to sit in His presence. In France, I felt a peace I’d never known. When I returned, I was ready to share the Good News, excited to evangelize friends and family. I applied for my dream airline job, but ended up as a flight attendant with another regional carrier. Though it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, I was grateful, because it still allowed me to travel and share Christ’s love. Eventually, scheduling conflicts made it hard to be as involved in my parish, but I prioritized attending Mass on layovers.

A friend encouraged me to attend an Encounter Conference. Against my hectic flying schedule, I rearranged everything and went. There, Father Maas laid hands on me and I was “in the Spirit” for the first time—washed, cleansed, embraced by euphoria. I realized that even when I wandered, God was waiting with open arms, loving me with no judgment. Now, I stand firm in faith, confident that when I call, He listens. 🙏❤️
