Summary
SummaryI was just 13 when they grabbed me from behind in a lonely street in Pakistan. I woke up on a foggy mountain ledge, thinking I was deadβand maybe in heaven. After shouting for help, a policeman rescued me and sent me home by hitchhiking across rugged terrain. Two days later, I finally saw my familyβs facesβmy mother wept, my father thanked God. When my kidnappers demanded my father renounce his faith or Iβd be thrown off a cliff again, Dad said βNoββand God protected me. I survived with only scratches, and that day my doubt vanished: there truly is a God who hears and saves. π
Anees Khan grew up in a Christian home in Pakistan, where he and his family faced extreme persecution because of their faith in Jesus. When Anees was 13 years old, he was kidnapped by a group of militant Muslims. His father β who served as a local pastor β received a phone call from the captors demanding that he convert to Islam, or they would kill his son. After the pastor refused to renounce his Christian faith, the attackers threw Anees off a cliff. However, he miraculously survived the ordeal without injury. The family eventually escaped Pakistan by going to Sri Lanka, and then later settling in Canada. Today, Anees and his family are helping marginalized and persecuted Christians in Pakistan.
