Through 1 Timothy 4:16, Romans 2:1–11, and Luke 4, I saw there were no excuses for my sin and finally surrendered to Jesus, being baptized on July 15, 1991 πŸ•ŠοΈ. Since then, church communities in Kansas City, Manhattan (KS), and here at Broward have supported my growth, helping me live in genuine faith and freedom πŸŽ‰.

On the outside, my religious family was a light in the world. But behind closed, I experienced abuse and hypocrisy. As a result, I grew up wanting nothing to do with organized religion.

I’ll never forget the time my friend showed up to my party with a bible in his hand and shared some scriptures with me. I was slow to warm up, but I eventually went to church with him and studied the bible. That’s when I learned how my past experiences had warped my view of God. I was finally able to know the truth about God, others, and myself.
