My heart broke as I tried to make sense of what was happening. Then I got the call from Mom—Clay survived! I fell to my knees, overwhelmed with relief and gratitude 🙏. I grieved for the classmates we lost and felt their absence as I prepared to walk the stage without them. Later, I returned as Chaplain Jake on the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, listening to hearts shattered by fear and loss. Together with our campus minister, we witnessed God’s comfort, reminding students that in Christ we have hope beyond this life—eternal life that no tragedy can steal 🌅.
