I was born in the United States to a Brazilian mother and a Palestinian father and brought up in a nominal Muslim home. Growing up, I was surrounded by the cultural symbols of Islam, yet I always questioned the images of Jesus in our home. After my parents divorced, my father took my sister and me to his village in the Middle East where I began to wonder about who Jesus really was. Although I once set out to convince Christians of Islam, my perspective changed dramatically when a Christian friend and a powerful gospel message on television stirred something deep within me. In an instant, the Holy Spirit touched my heart and I looked up to see Jesusβ€”the living truth in person. That moment transformed my entire life, redefining my identity and filling the void with hope, healing, and the freedom of Christ’s love.

Husein was a devout Muslim when he moved back to the United States as a young man. His goal? To convert Christians to Islam. It was only after a Christian friend tried to convert him that he found himself intrigued and watching a man preach the Gospel on television. In a moment, Husein was touched by the Holy Spirit and looked up to see Jesusβ€”the truth in person.
