Summary

SummaryI’m Pastor Zachariah, and in May 2023 I returned to my village in Mangu Central, Plateau State, Nigeria, unaware that Fulani militants had attacked. As I approached, I saw people crawling away barefoot, their bodies covered in mud from escaping. My house was completely burned, and in the kitchen I found the bodies of my beloved wife and son πŸ’”. In that moment, I felt forsaken and wondered, β€œWhere is God?”

Open Doors partners invited me to their Trauma Care Center, where I found counseling and comfort. Through their teaching, I learned to forgive those who attacked us and discovered God’s peace again πŸ™. Now, I pray for provision for my four remaining children and for believers in Mangu who were traumatized. My hope is that all who see this know that God can bring healing from the darkest places.

In May 2023, Pastor Zachariah returned home to find his wife and son had been killed in an attack by Fulani militants. His home had also been burnt to the ground. But thanks to your prayers and support, Pastor Zachariah received trauma counselling and practical support from Open Doors partners.
