SummaryI’m Catherine—everyone calls me Kat—and I want to share how God gently chased me down from the rules of my Nigerian Pentecostal upbringing into a living, breathing relationship with Him. I grew up in a strict church full of dos and don’ts 😅, never truly grasping the gospel until I was twelve. A friend’s tearful testimony in youth group stirred something in me, and I began having vivid dreams that felt like God tapping on my heart. One starry Monday before my 13th birthday, I slipped outside the church and prayed, “If You’re real, show me Yourself,” and I wept under the moon, feeling His presence for the first time 🌌. Middle school turned into high school, and I drifted into depression, suicidal thoughts, and reckless choices at Howard University. But a gut-wrenching dream warned me of where sin leads. I broke free from a painful relationship, detoxed from old teachings through Pastor Michael Todd’s sermon series, and rededicated my life that spring. Since then, I’ve been on fire for Jesus—alive, healed, and forever amazed at His relentless love ❤️.
