My journey toward healing began when I encountered Andrew Wommack’s teachings, especially his book, Spirit, Soul, & Body. That revelation unlocked the truth that Jesus’ sacrifice had already paid for my sins, freeing me from the heavy chains of guilt. Today, I live a transformed life—free from the shame of my past, embracing God’s unconditional love, and sharing my testimony to help other women find the freedom and restoration that only Christ can offer.

When Yvonne Smith was assaulted by a family member at the age of 4, her life was set on a bad course. She met Chris when she was almost 13, but as he came from a family with an absent mother and an alcoholic father, there was little guidance for the young couple. At only 13 years old, Yvonne was pregnant. Chris’ mother suggested abortion, but Yvonne’s mother was completely against it. They were a Catholic family and abortion was out of the question.

After the birth of their daughter, Chris and Yvonne moved out to make a home of their own. Their life was a constant of getting drunk and high, to the extent that years later, Yvonne didn’t realize she was pregnant again until she had reached her third trimester. Unsure of what to do, she visited an abortion clinic. Pushing past the crowd of people yelling in her face, calling her a murderer, she made it in to get her ultrasound. She learned she was having another daughter, but given the excessive drinking and smoking, there was a laundry list of things that could be wrong with the little girl. After speaking with Chris, they decided together that they were unfit parents to the child they already had – they believed they didn’t have what it takes to raise a disabled child. They chose to terminate the pregnancy. Yvonne later described the abortion as the worst pain she’s ever experienced; like a piece of her was being ripped out. It was a decision she regretted for decades to come.

Time moved on and Yvonne found Jesus and had two more children, but after experiencing two miscarriages, she carried a heavier guilt of the abortion than ever before. No longer strung out on drugs or alcohol, Chris and Yvonne’s marriage had healed, but she had so much to learn to be free from condemnation. Seeking help, she came across Andrew Wommack’s book, Spirit, Soul, & Body, which opened her eyes to the freedom that she doesn’t have to be afraid of being sent to hell. After discovering more of Andrew’s free teachings, she learned that Jesus’ one sacrifice paid for all her sins, freeing her from guilt, shame, and condemnation.

Today, Yvonne and Chris are happily married and continue watching Andrew Wommack’s Gospel Truth, constantly learning more about God’s incredible love for them. When she’s not busy running a real estate company, Yvonne brings the revelation of God’s love to other women who have struggled with shame.
