Summary
SummaryIβm Eric Escobar, and for years I chased a false sense of popularityβselling weed and other drugs from as young as 14 until I found myself behind bars at 17. In prison, my mom sent me a Bible, and I spent every moment reading Scripture and praying. Though I asked for freedom from jail with my lips, my heart was never fully surrendered to God. When I finally got out on parole at 21, I tried to rebuild my life but fell back into old habitsβdrugs, gangs, and broken relationships. A devastating breakup left me in a turmoil of evil oppressionβvoices, sleepless nights, constant anxiety. I felt unclean, even when wearing a sacred heart pendant my dad gave me. Nothing brought peaceβ¦until one day I walked into a Catholic church in Grapevine. Kneeling before the altar, I cried out to Jesus: βIf Youβll save me, Iβll give up everything.β In that moment, His peace flooded my soul. Though the oppression lingered for a while, the Holy Spirit convicted and purified my heart. Now I wake up seeking Himβgoing to Mass, participating in RCIA, adoration, growing in my faith each day. God has separated light from darkness inside me. Iβve been healed, delivered, and set free. Every day I live for Him, and I want others to know the life and joy Iβve found in Jesus. πβ€οΈβ¨
Eric Escobar’s journey began with a simple desire: to be popular. But as he chased popularity, he found himself on a perilous path. What started as experimenting with drugs quickly escalated into buying and selling them by the tender age of 14 or 15. By 17, he found himself behind bars, arrested, and incarcerated. It wasn’t until the age of 21, upon receiving parole, he was granted a chance at redemption. While on parole, he reverted to his former lifestyle until a pivotal moment shook him to the core, prompting him to rethink his way of life.
