When I and two fellow pastors bravely began constructing a new church in autumn 2023, local authorities arrested us and threw us into a cramped prison for 3 months and 23 days. We suffered hunger and discomfort, relying entirely on the prayers and kindness of believers—some I’d never met—who secretly brought food and water 🙏. One night, as we pleaded for provision, God moved someone to deliver sustenance miraculously 🍞💧. Though our church was demolished the day after our release, my heart overflows with gratitude to every brother and sister who stood with us. Now, we pray for a new place to gather, a motorbike for outreach, and wisdom for our local partners as we face mounting threats. Through it all, God’s faithfulness sustains us, and we trust He will open doors once more 🚪✨.

In Jerla’s* community in northern Laos, most people are animists who oppose Christians for abandoning the traditional religion. Jerla was arrested and imprisoned for building a new church. He was eventually released, but his church was destroyed. Please pray that he and his congregation will find somewhere new to worship.
