Summary
My name is Ashleigh. I have walked a long, painful journey to forgive and reconcile with my dadβa journey marked by deep emotional wounds and the struggle to understand abandonment and rejection. Despite years of silence and a lack of support from my earthly father, God, my true Father, provided the strength to heal my broken heart. From my time living in Colorado on a scholarship to returning to Zimbabwe in a state of despair, I faced profound grief and even questioned my identity. Through creative expression, counseling, and the life-changing power of Scriptureβespecially the words in Song of SongsβI learned that forgiving is a choice rooted in Godβs perfect love. In 2015, I reconnected with my dad in Canada, and that face-to-face meeting transformed my pain into a triumphant victory. Today, I stand free, having experienced the restoration that only God can bring, and I want to encourage anyone struggling with rejection or loss that true healing is possible when you embrace His love.

Ashleigh shares her testimony of forgiveness and reconciliation. Her story is about how the Lord became her true Father while she embarked on a journey of reconciling with her earthly father. Her testimony is impactful and relevant to everyone who hears it no matter what season of life they find themselves in. Her story echoes the Lords heart spoken of in Malachi 4:5-6 βLook, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lords arrival. His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.β
