Summary

I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, and got married to John, who was born with a heart defect. Though he was incredibly brave, his condition worsened, and one morning I realized we had to leave home. I walked out with the kids, knowing that was the last time they’d see him awake. I stayed by his side in the hospital for nearly a month until he passed awayβ€”a loss that left me heartbroken and struggling to find words to explain it to my children. Amid the pain, my daughter’s gentle reminder about baptism and my own commitment to my relationship with Christ gave me the strength to find peace. The support from my local church and the love of those around me have helped me heal and transform my grief into a testimony of faith.
