Summary

SummaryI’m Erica Garcia, originally from Mexico πŸ‡²πŸ‡½. After my divorce, shame and regret led me into a dangerous spiralβ€”one night I came home so drunk I don’t even remember the drive. But God kept me safe, and in that moment I surrendered everything, repented, and felt Jesus’s forgiveness flood my heart πŸ™. The next Sunday I was back in church, embraced by a new family who walked with me through every trial. A few years later, I faced breast cancer. That season was hard, but I could never face it aloneβ€”my church cared for me and my kids every step of the way. Today I’m cancer-free since 2015 πŸŽ‰. If you feel there’s no hope left, know that with Jesus, everything is possibleβ€”even forgiveness after divorce and healing from illness πŸ’–.

After her divorce, Erika coped with her pain and regret in ways she’s not proud of. She thought God would not want to even look at her. Then, after a miraculous intervention, everything changed. She discovered that Jesus is forgiveness and love. And through her church, she found a family that would walk with her through the hardest times – even a cancer diagnosis. That’s why she is overflowing with hope!

Hi, my name is Erica Garcia and I’m from Mexico. I came here when I was 17 in 1995. I accepted Jesus as my Savior in 2000. My ex-husband’s family invited me to a service and that was where I started studying the Word of God. A year or two after this, our marriage broke up and we got divorced. I felt that I had fallen from the grace of God, that God would not even turn and see. He didn’t see me anymore. I did things that I am not proud of and I felt ashamed. One day, I found myself in the comfort of my home, in my bed, but I shouldn’t be there. Since the night before, I was so intoxicated with alcohol that I don’t even remember how I dropped home.

I recognized that it was God who kept me. He kept me safe. I couldn’t cause an accident and lost my life. Or even worse, I could kill someone. That’s when I gave up and I repented and I asked God for forgiveness and I allowed Him to take control of my life. The next day, it was Sunday, and I did what I had done. For a long time, I woke up early and the first thing that came to my mind was that I wanted to go to church. After Jesus found me, He found me a family too. Because it’s not just the relationship with Jesus, you become part of a big family. After I came back to Jesus, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was a hard time.

I had to go through it. But I could not go through it without Jesus and the big family that He gave me. My church, they surround me around and they make sure I was taken care of. Me and my kids, not just me, me and my kids. They never left me. Praise the Lord for that. And now I’m cancer-free since 2015. Whoever’s out there, they think there is no hope. There’s hope. Everything is better with Jesus. Even with cancer, Jesus to me is my saver. He is forgiveness. He doesn’t look at what you do. He’s just love. He looks at you with love. Nothing is impossible for God. Everything is possible for the ones that believe.
