By high school, I’d walked away, felt empty, and battled depression, even flirting with suicide 😔. I joined a gang for a sense of belonging, selling drugs, committing crimes, and chasing fleeting thrills like a BMW and designer clothes—yet I still felt hollow inside. When my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, I was broken. One night, overwhelmed, I prayed for the first time, confessing my sins and asking Jesus for help. Through tears, I promised to follow Him if He’d rescue me. In the weeks that followed, God changed my heart: I sold the BMW, left the gang, stopped partying, and picked up my first Bible 📖. I returned to a local church, dove into small groups, and found encouragement in Godly friends. I discovered a passion for teaching while serving in children’s ministry, which led me to earn my high school diploma, then a bachelor’s in religious education, and finally a Master of Divinity. Though I endured deep loss—my mom passed away in my arms—I found comfort in knowing she was with the Lord. God then called me to pastoral ministry; I left a three-year relationship that hindered my walk, trusted Him, and planted a church with my wife. Today, I’m a lead pastor and content creator, sharing the same gospel that gave me everlasting hope and freedom 🙌.
