I was struggling to come off pain pills and Xanax on my own until a devastating car wreck landed me in jail. Growing up in a small town in Georgia, I had two dreamsβ€”to become a firefighter and to feel my dad’s loveβ€”but both were shattered. My anger, rejection, and deep void led me into a five-year spiral of drug addiction with multiple overdoses and a crushing DUI that sent me to prison. At 25, after a head-on collision and waking up in jail, I lost hope and even considered suicide. Then, in 2014, I called my dad for help; he brought me to his home and introduced me to an evangelist. I cried out to Jesus, and that marked my turning point. Over time, while serving time, I got off drugs, learned to forgive my dad, and embraced God’s promise. Today, I’m drug free, have a successful dog training business, and minister to men in prisonβ€”living proof that God can redeem even a life fractured by rejection.
